The late Vuyo Mokoena's status as a Gospel music icon of enduring and substantial proportions was confirmed when more than 45 000 copies of the compilation CD and DVD REMEMBERING VUYO MOKOENA were sold after its release in November 2010. That CD and DVD featured many of Mokoena's memorable performances as part of Joyous Celebration as well as his own solo records. The demand for a follow-up to REMEMBERING VUYO MOKOENA has been strong ever since the compilation's release last year and now comes REMEMBERING VUYO MOKOENA CD VOL. 2 - a pound-for-pound match for the first release. REMEMBERING VUYO MOKOENA CD VOL. 2 features a collection of hits that stretch back to Mokoena's days with Pure Magic and Rebecca Malope. Songs like "Thula'ulalele" featuring the queen of South African Gospel, Rebecca Malope, and "Njalo" and "Hlengiwe" featuring Pure Magic, are included in the record. Also on the compilation is "Makabongwe" (from JOYOUS CELEBRATION 6), "Ebusheni bami", a duet with Jabu Hlongwane taken off JOYOUS CELEBRATION LIVE IN CAPE TOWN (DVD) as well as "Akekho'fana naye" which was featured on JOYOUS CELEBRATION 10. A highlight of REMEMBERING VUYO MOKOENA VOL. 2 is "Inqanawe" - which is taken from one of the most successful collaboration albums ever recorded in the history of South African Gospel music, Jabu & Vuyo's multi-platinum ICULO ELISHA.
