Thean kicked off his career in 2001 by singing in restaurants, pubs and at weddings. He entered the ATKV competition and was second runner up with his own composition. In 2003 he started doing studio work and performed backing vocals on nearly 13 albums (Robbie Wessels, Leanie May, Bok van Blerk, Gerrie Pretorious). Whilst working in a music shop he met singer Abri Van Der Westhuizen soon teaming up as the successful duo Limpopo . After a fruitful 4 year run (and many accolades later) Thean released his debut solo album (recorded in 2009) and compliments his concert "Time in a Bottle". Rich in quality Folk sees Thean s dream of releasing an accomplished solo acoustic cover album come to fruition. Boasting rewarding interpretations of Jim Croce s Time in a Bottle , Neil Young s Heart of Gold , Cat Steven s Moonshadow and many more Folk is a perfect fit for any mood.
