Hits and missives is a selection of the best letters and replies from the best satirist in the business, including letters from the very first Ben Trovato book, The Ben Trovato Files, which has been out of print for many years. Trovato's abiding abhorrence of deadlines makes it all the more remarkable that he has managed to produce five books. His trilogy of letters illuminated the darkest recesses of the national psyche, his self-help guide went a long way towards boosting suicide and divorce rates and his golfing guide sped up efforts to turn golf into a blood sport. Trovato lives in Sea Point and writes a regular column for The Cape Times. He is sponsored by Cobra beer and trains homing seagulls in his spare time.
